In this lesson we master how Darija really expresses likes & preferences. Instead of “I like couscous,” Darija flips it: “Couscous pleases me.” That’s the verb 3jb (عجب) in action—and you’ll use it every day. What you’ll learn: The Darija structure for “I like / he likes / she likes / we like” Who’s the subject (the thing you like) and who’s the object (you) Gender & number forms you must know: kay-3jbni = it (masc.) pleases me → “I like (masc.)” kat-3jbni = it (fem.) pleases me → “I like (fem.)” kay-3jbouni = they please me → “I like (plural)” Real examples: kat-3jbni had l-mdrasa (I like this school) kay-3jbo l-khobz l-maghribi (He likes Moroccan bread) kay-3jbha s-so9 f Mrraksh (She likes the souk in Marrakech) kay-3jbouni l-ktouba (I like books) Practice plan Say 10 sentences you genuinely use (food, places, people you learn with). Cover all three forms: kay-3jbni / kat-3jbni / kay-3jbouni. Comment 3 sentences—I'll check your gender/number agreement.
