Dive Deeper: Jesus and Melchizedek - Dive Deeper - 365 Daily Devotion

365 Daily Devotions: Bible Character Edition 💁🏻 Who Is Melchizedek? Melchizedek – the priest of the Most High God Melchizedek appears briefly in the Bible, but his role is very important. He was both a king and a priest who served the Most High God. When Abraham returned from battle, Melchizedek met him, blessed him, and offered bread and wine. Abraham honored him by giving a tenth of everything. The Bible does not tell us where Melchizedek came from or when he died. This silence is intentional. In Hebrews, God uses Melchizedek to help us understand Jesus. Melchizedek is not Jesus himself, but a picture pointing forward to Christ. He shows us that Jesus would be a greater and eternal priest—chosen by God, not by family line—who brings blessing, peace, and salvation to His people forever. 📖 Bible Readings: Genesis 14:18–20 (Psalm 110:1–4, Hebrews 5:5–10, Hebrews 7:1–17, Hebrews 7:23–28) 👨🏻u200d💻 Teachings: 1. As You gave Abraham victory, remind me that all success, strength, and provision come from Your hand. Teach me to honor You not only with my words but also with my wealth, offering back to You what already belongs to You. Fill my heart with zeal for Your glory, not my own name. Help me give faithfully, gratefully, and joyfully, knowing You are the source of every blessing. May my life declare that You alone deserve all the glory, now and forever. In Jesus' name, amen.
