Division: Every Muslim's Middle Name?

5/12/26 | Sectarianism Q&A with YQ In this lecture, Shaykh Yasir Qadhi delivers a powerful reminder on one of the most important yet overlooked principles in Islam, which is the art of clarification and seeking context before passing judgment. Drawing on Quranic commandments and prophetic examples, he shows how even the most clear-cut cases of wrongdoing require understanding the full context before a verdict is reached. He then applies this principle directly to sectarianism, explaining how half-truths and out of context clips fuel division between Muslim groups and why understanding the other side's perspective is essential for informed dialogue. The lecture is followed by an open Q&A session covering a range of relevant questions from the audience. 0:00-0:40 Highlights 0:40-3:20 The Art of Clarification 3:20-7:20 Prophet's Example of Clarification 7:20-12:12 The Story of Hatib ibn Abi Balta'a 12:12-17:22 Context vs Half Truths 17:22-20:22 Understanding the Other Side 20:22-26:38 Sunni Shia Context Example 26:38-27:40 Summary & Conclusion 27:40-1:00:40 Q&A Please LIKE, COMMENT, & SHARE! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ► Credits: *Note: No musical instruments were used in this video, all background noise is human acapella.* Intro & Outro Nasheed Artist: Ibraheem Bakeer Produced by: MAQAMAT INSTITUTION Copyright reserved and reproduced exclusively with permission for Yasir Qadhi's Official YouTube Channel. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ► Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi - Official Social Media Pages Facebook: facebook.com/yasirqadhi Instagram: instagram.com/yasir.qadhi Twitter: twitter.com/yasirqadhi Snapchat: snapchat.com/add/yasir.qadhi --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- © Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi - Official YouTube Channel
