About this track

A morning prayer for when everything around you shakes. Psalm 46 never promises a life without trouble. It promises a refuge that stands inside it. In January 2010, a father named Dan Woolley walked across the lobby of the Hotel Montana in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. At 4:53 in the afternoon the ground convulsed and six storeys of concrete came down. He was nearsighted and his glasses were gone, so he used the light of his camera, photograph by photograph, to find his way into a broken elevator shaft. He was there for about 65 hours. And before he knew whether he would live, he opened a small journal and wrote to his two sons: "Don't be upset at God. He always provides for his children, even in hard times." โ–บ LIKE! ๐Ÿ‘ โ–บ COMMENT! ๐Ÿ’ฌ โ–บ SHARE! โžค โ–บ SUBSCRIBE! ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://www.youtube.com/@DailyJesusDevotional?sub_confirmation=1 โ–บ TURN ON THE NOTIFICATION BELL! ๐Ÿ”” โ–บ FREE NEWSLETTER ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://dailyjesusdevotional.beehiiv.com/ โ–บ OUR NEW PRAYER CHANNEL ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://www.youtube.com/@DailyJesusPrayers?sub_confirmation=1 If you are led to support our ministry, you may do so here: โ–บ DONATIONS ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://www.buymeacoffee.com/dailyjesusdevotional We appreciate your support! This morning devotional walks through three truths. First, that God is your refuge while the ground is still moving, and that a refuge was never a reward for the strong but a shelter for the shaken (Psalm 46:1, Psalm 46:2-3, 1 Samuel 30:6, Nahum 1:7, Psalm 62:6). Second, that you must run to the refuge first and not last, the way three young men answered a king before they ever negotiated with him (Psalm 46:5, Psalm 55:22, Daniel 3:17-18). Third, that "Be still, and know that I am God" is not an instruction to pretend, but the release of a grip that was never yours to hold (Psalm 46:10, Acts 4:31, Isaiah 54:10). Along the way you will hear the one quiet mistake that undoes this blessing in sincere believers, and the part of Dan Woolley's story that was held back from the opening. Stay to the end for a blessed prayer over your shaking places, your family, you
