About this track

In this Bhutan travel vlog, I take you along for one of the most meaningful days of my journey through Bhutan. The day begins with an emotional goodbye at Ama Om’s homestay — one of the most authentic and wholesome experiences I’ve had in the country. From milking cows and helping cook traditional meals to sharing laughter despite the language barrier, this homestay perfectly captures everyday Bhutanese life and hospitality. From there, we cross one of Bhutan’s longest suspension bridges, stretching high above the Mo Chhu River and connecting rural villages that were once cut off by flooding. It’s a scenic reminder of how infrastructure and nature coexist in the Himalayas. Next, we head into the hills above Punakha Valley to visit Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Nunnery, where I sit down for a rare and insightful interview with a Buddhist nun. She shares what daily life is like inside an all-female monastery, her studies in Buddhist philosophy, and why Buddhism in Bhutan is less about religion and more about a way of living. This conversation offers a powerful female perspective rarely seen in travel vlogs. After lunch, we begin the long and winding journey east toward Phobjikha Valley, often called the Switzerland of Bhutan. With its wide open glacial valley, rolling fields, crisp mountain air, and endangered black-necked cranes, this landscape feels completely different from anywhere else in the country. The day ends with an overnight stay at Gangtey Monastery, a 17th-century monastery perched high above the valley. After a meal prepared by the monks, we settle in for a freezing but unforgettable night surrounded by silence, prayer, and Himalayan views. This vlog blends cultural connection, spiritual insight, and some of Bhutan’s most breathtaking scenery — a day that perfectly captures why this country is so special. 🌏 About the Bhutan series This vlog is part of my Bhutan travel series, filmed during a 10-night, 11-day journey across the country with Breathe Bhutan, who crafted an incredible itinerary focuse
