Before four o'clock in the morning, George Washington Carver was already walking in the woods. Born into slavery in Missouri around 1864, kidnapped as an infant, and turned away at a Kansas college door in 1885 once they saw he was black — he still rose at four every morning for the rest of his life. Not to hurry God along. To thank Him, and to ask for the orders of the day. This morning devotional walks through three truths. First, thanksgiving before daylight settles your heart, because whatever speaks to you first is quietly asking for your agreement (Psalm 57:8, Psalm 59:16, 1 Chronicles 23:30, Psalm 145:1-2, Isaiah 33:2). Second, thanksgiving is a decision you make before the evidence arrives, the way David's darkest psalm still rose in the morning (Psalm 88:13, Hosea 6:3, Job 1:5). Third, what you release into the dark decides what the daylight carries (2 Samuel 23:4, Nehemiah 12:43, Malachi 4:2). Along the way you will hear the one habit that quietly undoes this blessing in most believers — and what happened when the most powerful newspaper in America mocked Carver in print for saying God taught him. Stay to the end for a blessed prayer over your morning, your family, your finances, your healing and your breakthrough, in the mighty name of Jesus. 🙏 If this prayer blessed you, comment "AMEN" and share it with someone who needs a better first sentence tomorrow morning. 🔔 Subscribe and turn on notifications so you never
