The Dollmaker’s Daughters: A Grave Obsession

In this episode of Fringe Beyond Limits, the hosts investigate the shocking true story of Anatoly Moskvin — a brilliant scholar whose obsession with death led him to exhume and mummify 29 young girls, dressing them as life-size dolls. The episode explores his childhood fixation with cemeteries, his methods, the discovery by authorities, and the aftermath for the families, as well as the legal and mental health debates that followed. Through candid conversation, the hosts reflect on the case’s moral complexities, cultural reactions, and the lasting impact on the community of Nizhny Novgorod.
